Washington, D.C. is normally the center of the political universe, but as I type right now, the street behind me is blocked off to allow for a certain motorcade to arrive at the Federal Building in Downtown Chicago. Last week, I had the pleasure of having a ticket to THE event of the season: OBAMAPALOOZA. It was incredible, moving, exciting, and all those warm and fuzzy things.
I’m sorry, Gluties, but I have bad news. The event was NOT GF-friendly. The ONLY food served: Pizza. By the time the speech was over, I was so hungry and emotionally-drained that I was shoving through the crowd at 1:00 am with all my cameras and videocameras and journalistic junk, trying to find the one-and-only place open for eats in downtown: 7-freaking-11.
Whatever, it was still totally awesome and totally worth it.
