I am sorry to say that today I had a very different experience at Acadiana. I attended the Sunday brunch. It was a large group party for a friend. I called a few times in advance to speak with the manger on duty to make certain I could eat something that would not make me sick. Throughout lunch the wait staff would bring my things such as salad with croutons and my mixed berry dessert had a pastry cookie on top! When I sent the salad back I explained that I needed a new salad...when they brought the salad back it had one crouton on it which was a tip they just picked the others off. I didn't want to complain much in front of the large group since it was an event for my friend. So I ate my food and now I am very sick. Restaurants like this think they can pull a fast one and they just either don't care or don't understand how their careless food handling impacts others. I even explained up front that I have celiac disease. I've had better care and compassion at a Wendy's fast food chain than I did at this restaurant.

Hey DCM7D - Thanks for the inquiry ... actually, all **distilled** liquors are gluten free. While most are originally made from barley, rye or a wheat derivative, gluten is a protein that is removed during the distillation process. You need to be careful of any raw liquors (I wouldn't touch moonshine if I were you, but for many reasons other than its GF qualities) and malted beverages are never okay (so JD coolers are out), but bourbon stays. Thank GOD. I heart bourbon and bourbon fizz.

Brandi does drink her share of bourbon (and my share, and your share...). All the bourbons I've looked into are GF, from your standards to the premiums. Let us know if you find something different.
